Music and Science - How are sounds made?

We have started to learn about music and sound in our topic work. Our first question was how are sounds 

 made and how do we hear them?

 

We explored the instruments and sorted them into groups showing how we made sounds on them. We also decided that we hear sounds through our ears.

We have found out that sounds can be made by tapping, hitting, scraping, shaking and blowing. 

We also talked about strumming, which Mr Lavis does on his guitar. 

We are also learning lots of songs and improving our singing skills.















Next week we are learning about different sound sources and how to use sounds to create our own sound effects.
